The primary duties of a finance committee are:
- Overseeing organizational financial planning and ensuring the board approves the annual budget
- Safeguarding organizational assets
- Drafting organizational financial policies
- Anticipating financial problems
- Ensuring the board receives regular and timely financial statements
- Ensuring accurate financial records are kept
- Making sure all necessary legal reports are filed
