Rachel is the Senior Accountant at the Cato Institute, a public policy research organization located in Washington, DC. She began her career in the nonprofit industry in 2012, starting out in a membership department before making the leap to accounting. She enjoys the challenges of adapting to the constantly shifting needs of a small finance team and the resulting opportunities to learn about and impact an organization’s operations. Rachel came to the accounting profession via an indirect route, having studied Greek and Roman history for her undergraduate degree. She still enjoys reading about ancient and medieval history in her spare time and is a collector of books. Rachel participated in the 2019/2020 GWSCPA Nonprofit Leadership Program.
